Quick answerA PP spun (melt-blown) filter cartridge is a depth filter made from 100% polypropylene microfibres. The fibres are thermally bonded into a graded-density tube that holds dirt through its whole thickness. Filtsap makes them in 1, 5 and 10 micron, 10" to 40" long, with a 62 mm OD and 28 mm ID. They are the standard pre-filter for RO plants, process water and chemicals.

Our FiltSpun cartridges are produced on our own melt-blown line at CTM, Ahmedabad. They contain no binders, resins or lubricants, so they do not foam or leach and are safe for drinking-water and food-contact applications.

A graded-density structure (coarser outside, finer inside) gives more dirt-holding capacity and longer life than surface filters of the same micron rating.

FAQs

What micron PP spun cartridge should I use before RO?

Use a 5 micron cartridge for most RO plants. If the feed water has high turbidity, put a 10 or 20 micron cartridge first and a 5 micron after it to protect the membranes.

What is the difference between spun and melt-blown cartridges?

They are the same product. "Melt-blown" describes how it is made: molten polypropylene is blown into microfibres. "Spun" is the common trade name.

How often should a PP spun cartridge be replaced?

Replace it when the pressure drop across the housing reaches about 1–1.5 kg/cm² over clean condition. In typical RO plants that is every 15–45 days, depending on water quality.

Do you supply in bulk to RO dealers?

Yes. The MOQ is 200 pieces per size, and dealer and OEM supply terms are available. You can also get your own brand printed on the box.
